VC blows hot over sex-for-marks, cultism, extortion in Nasarawa University
Nasarawa State University's Vice-Chancellor, Keffi, Prof. Suleiman Mohammed, has shifted to end vices in the organization such as sex for marks, extortion, and other unethical behaviors.Mohammed announced this on Monday, NAN reports said such a commitment would go a long way in enhancing the educational standard in the state and the nation at big.
"We are committed to ensuring that our system is governed by the rule of law and that there is no room for unethical conduct in the system.
"I'm talking about exam abuse, cultism, and extortion, sex or cash grade sales among other behaviors.
"What we do will be multidimensional; the first aspect is to provide our employees and learners with data about the risks of these vices.
"I am pleased to inform you that the employees and students handbooks contain all types of indiscipline and misconduct and that there are suitable committees to cope with it.
"The second aspect is to reinforce the disciplinary process in order to make anyone discovered bear the brunt and bring it to school appropriately and serve others as a deterrent.
"Finally, we have the ability to apply the penalty to anyone found guilty at the university," he said.
The Vice Chancellor pledged dignity, responsibility, transparency in fulfilling his responsibilities for the institution's general growth.
