Mr Sunday Aroni - Lagos will get more corps members, if…

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos State Coordinator, Mr Sunday Aroni, encouraged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to construct an appropriate continuous orientation camp on the land assigned to the Agbowa, Epe scheme by the state.

He said doing so would boost the amount of employees of the state's corps deployed.

Aroni spoke at the opening of the 2.560 Batch "B" Stream I corps members ' three-week orientation course at the Iyana Ipaja camp.

He said: "Let me express once again my sincere gratitude to the Lagos State government for allocating 10 hectares of property in the Agbowa Epe Local Government Area at this juncture.
It is our ardent conviction that in the Center of Excellence, our friendly and youth-friendly Governor will put in place all the needed steps to build a very appropriate continuous orientation camp. Not only will Lagos State emerge as one of the finest camps, it will also ensure the enhanced amount of corps staff to the state. "Of the 2,560 employees of the corps enrolled before the ceremony, Aroni said 888 males and 1,732 females graduates were mobilized to serve the state.

Justice Owolabi Afeez, who represented the Lagos State Chief Judge, resulted them in the oath of loyalty.
Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Secretary of State Government (SSG), Mrs. Folasade Jaji, advised the members of the corps to use the NYSC's Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program to obtain skills that would make them labour-employers after the year of service.

"This novel idea was put in place to empower members of the corps with the necessary skills to become labor employers and not job seekers in the course of their service.

"I encourage you to always reflect on the accomplishments the system has recorded in sustaining domestic unity, inclusion, and economic development as you begin your national service year," he said.
Although the ceremony was shortened by a downpour, it did not prevent the NYSC dance group from performing
